Post #3: Computer Lab, Calendars, Printing at Home and more

The computer labs have been looking great! Students have been doing a good job of cleaning up before they leave. Thank you for your extra effort in this regard.

Computer Labs: Both computer labs have been outfitted with headphones and extension cables. Please monitor student use of the headphones. Students should not be unplugging and plugging in their own headphones. If you have a student who needs to use their own headphones for a specific reason, please let me know.

Computer Lab Calendars are both live and ready to go. You can access both calendars under "OTHER CALENDARS" in google calendar. If you cannot locate either calendar, please let me know and I will re-share the calendar(s) with you.

Printing at Home: We now have access to printing at home on your teacher macbooks. If you'd like to print at home, it's a 2 step process. At school, you need to open Self-Service in your applications folder and install the print driver for the model of your home printer (Epson, HP, Canon). Once you install the driver at school. You can then go home and add the printer to your printer options. For specific step by step directions for printing at home - read this google doc. If you have any questions or need assistance, please let me know.

Power cords: If you choose to label your new teacher laptop power cord, please use a label so that if we need to reassign the power cord in the future, we can just put a new sticker over the old sticker.

Showing DVDs - If you are looking to show a DVD in your classroom.
Here are your options:
  • use a student computer as they have DVD drives
  • borrow an external DVD player from the library to use with your teacher laptop (Thank you Colleen for housing this equipment!)

Software: FasstMath is now ready for use for classrooms 2-5. Reminder this is a school only title. Students cannot access this tool from home.
