External DVD's: If you are looking to show a movie and you want to use your teacher laptop, please check out an external DVD player from the library.


As an alternative, you could use a student laptop or your classroom TA's laptop. Please keep in mind that you will need to set the "mirror" display settings so that the computer screen is projected. Here is a quick video tutorial on how to set the "mirror" setting on a laptop.






It would be best to test things out ahead of time as to make sure that things run smoothly before "GO" time. Let me know if you have any trouble and I can assist you.

Headphones - If students need to borrow headphones, they can do so from the pocket chart hanging behind the door to the main computer lab. At the beginning of the year, I had 10 pairs to borrow. I am down to 6 pairs. If you find any stray headphones in your classroom, please have a student return them to the lab. Thanks.


Software Updates: Generally software updates are pushed out to our computers over the wireless. However, if your teacher laptop needs an update and you keep getting a popup message, you can always check Self-Service and install the update directly from there. Here are Self-Service directions to assist you.

Whiteboard Pens: A new eno interactive pen is on the market. We are looking into purchasing a couple to try out. If you are interested in testing out a new eno pen to use with your interactive whiteboard, please let me know!
