Post #14: iPass, Medfield Day, Tech Committee and Tech Resources

iPass: Just a reminder that Firefox is the preferred browser when working on report cards. We are aware of an issue with some computers where Firefox and iPass are not working. In those cases, Safari is the next best browser to use. Chrome is not supported. Remember to "SAVE" often.

For those who wish to enter T2 for competencies for the entire class ~ iPass was able to increase the number of competencies that can be submitted with T2 to 15. It was not allowing more than 10. Thank you to Eva for working with them on this. And thank you to the teachers for bringing this issue to our attention.

Medfield's Digital Day of Learning: This free conference is scheduled for Friday, February 5th. Lots of offerings on google docs, google classroom, programming, apps, movie making and more. It's sure to be a great day. If you are interested in attending, please let me know. If you'd like more information, click here. Conference sessions are still being scheduled; take a peek at what they have lined up so far.

Tech Committee Update: We had a great tech committee meeting on Tuesday, January 12th. Thank you for those that attended as your input is very important. Here are the notes from our meeting. Next meeting - Tuesday, February 9th - BrainPop webinar. All are welcome to join us.

Tech Resources:

Promethean Planet: For those using ActivInspire remember the wonderful variety of free resources available on Promethean Planet. Download flipcharts and use as is or edit them to make them fit with your curriculum. Flipcharts are like a powerpoint; which is a great way to organize all of your lesson resources in one place.

PBS LearningMedia - Colleen and I learned about PBS Learning Media while attending the Digital Learning Day @ WGBH last Friday. This is a free online resource tool for teachers and students filled with media content, lesson ideas, picture gallery, quiz builder, storyboard templates and so much more. Check out their about video.

Wishing everyone a wonderful long weekend!
