Post #15: Class Dojo Videos, PBS LearningMedia, PARCC, Printing, Tech PD

Class Dojo: Some of you may already be familiar with this fun online classroom management tool. However, this week I received an email about videos from the Class Dojo Monsters. You might want to check out their short fun video series called Big Ideas For the Classroom - Growth Mindset.

PBS LearningMedia: I shared this resource in last week's tech update. A free digital resource for teachers and students. I receive weekly emails from them. Here are a few links to some curriculum topics that may be of interest to you:

Nature Cat (K-2) -
Earth's Endangered Species (K-8)
Wild Kratts (K-3) Learn about animal habitats around the globe. These adventures combine science with engaging stories, and mysteries.

Tech Items:

HH Lab Color: The printer part has arrived and been installed. The print quality should be noticeably improved. Please remember to THINK before you print. Do you need to use the color printer?

PARCC: With PARCC coming up in a couple of months, please be sure that all of your students have headphones. You might want to start sending home reminders now for students who don't have them. I do have a few pairs of headphones that I can loan out.

Printing: We have noticed over the past few weeks that several fonts do not print on our printers. Thus causing the printer to print one symbol or multiple symbols on a page (uugh - frustrating I know!!).

Please avoid these fonts:
Alice
Arial
Papyrus
Quicksand

If you know other fonts that do not work with our printers, please let me know so we can add them to this running list.

Tech PD:

NE Google Summit: The NE Google Summit is scheduled for March 12th and 13th in Burlington, MA. Two days of learning everything "google". A great take if you are free. There is usually an option to get one graduate credit if you attend both days.
