Hope everyone had a restful vacation week. It sure has been busy since we have returned!

Google Drive Update: In the coming weeks, Google will unveil a more efficient way to see who you have shared google drive folders with. You may already be familiar with the "people icon" next to a folder or file that you have shared with someone. In the update, when you hover over the "people icon" you will see who a folder's been shared with and with what permission level.
New Tools to Explore: Remember to review the WPS Instructional Tools Policy BEFORE creating student accounts or using a new tool with your students. (The link to the policy can also be found under For Staff on the HH website.)

Photos for Class - While Google Images does provide access to a huge amount of images. Sometimes even with safe search, images come up that you aren't expecting. Photos for Class is an safe image search for educational purposes - the images are free and follow creative commons use, age appropriate, and the site provides proper image citations! Check it out. 

Quizalize - Free online interactive quiz creation tool. If you are familiar with Kahoot, Quizalize is similar. May noted two differences, students play in group and you can assign the quiz as homework. Here is a brief introductory video.



Wizer - Wizer is a free online resource used to create interactive assignments. These assignments can include images, videos and obviously different styles of questions (multiple choice, open ended fill in the blank...). Once you create your assignment, you can share it with your class via Google Classroom, or a link on your classroom website or blog. Here is a link to an article about Wizer which provides more details. Below is a video tutorial on how to create a Wizer assignment. If you choose to create accounts for your students,

NE Google Summit: The NE Google Summit is scheduled for March 12th and 13th in Burlington, MA. Two days of learning everything "google". A great take if you are free. There is usually an option to get one graduate credit if you attend both days.
