#13 - BrainPop, Cleaning Devices, Google Classroom, Headphones, iPass, Tech Committee

Happy Friday!

Tech Class Update: We've had a great couple of weeks with students actively engaged in coding in the Tech Lab. Students have worked with a variety of tools; such as Code.org, Scratch Jr. on iPads, Khan Academy Coding and Osmo Coding. We will continue with coding for the rest of the month.

A few updates and reminders this week. If you have any questions, please let me know.

We renewed our subscriptions to BrainPop and BrainPop Jr. There are lots of great curriculum related videos along with resources to support those videos.

Your login is as follows:
username: firstname_lastname
password: sent via email from BrainPop

If you have any problems logging, please use the Login Help link on the BrainPop sign-in window.

Cleaning Devices: Please continue to clean your classroom equipment so that we can keep the spreading of germs down. If you need wipes of any kind, please let me know. If you use clorox or lysol wipes, please make sure they are not dripping wet, ring them out first.

Google Classroom: With so many teachers using Google Classroom, it was suggested that we add a link directly to it under "For Students." You will find the link right under Google Apps for Students. Hope this speed up the logging in process!

Headphones: Please do not allow your students to borrow headphones from the hallway lab. Classes are using that space and headphones are missing. I only have a few left in the lab to borrow. Might be a good time to remind parents of this need (could be a holiday gift).

iPass and Report Cards: If you feel like getting a jump on report cards, please do so - Term 1 in iPass is open for reporting.

Tech Committee: Next Technology Committee meeting is on Thursday, December 15th at 3:30 in the computer lab.
