#15 - SplashMath, Tech 1-to-1, Tech Committee

Hope you all had a wonderful break and a good week back. It seemed to fly by. A few quick updates.

Classroom Projectors: Joe cleaned all of the projector filters over vacation. If your projector seems out of alignment, please let me know.

Several teachers have asked about using Splash Math with their class. For those interested in trying it out, we are piloting a premium subscription to Splash Math through June 30, 2017. This is a volunteer opportunity. Eva is setting up all classrooms so everyone will have the opportunity to try it out if you choose to. Once everything is ready, I will be share login information (for both you and your students). I have added a link to Splash Math under "For Students" as well as on Computer Lab Links - each grade level page (K-5). It also appears under "For Staff" on Staff Curriculum Resources.

Features:
  • Aligned to Common Core
  • Access through the web and iPad App
  • Access at home and school
  • Personalized learning
  • Student and Class Reports
  • Student login cards
Things to Do:

  • Let me know if you will be using SplashMath so the Math Coaches and I can support you and your students.
  • If you plan on participating in the pilot, please be sure to notify families that you will be using this online tool with your class.
  • Explore the SplashMath skills page. Use the grade level buttons along the top to see the specifics for your grade level.

Tech 1-to-1: The next Tech Day is next Thursday, January 12th. If you are interested in working together, please sign up via Doodle. This could be a good time to explore SplashMath a bit.

Tech Committee: Our January Tech Committee is scheduled for Thursday, January 19th at 3:30 in the computer lab. All are welcome to attend.
