Post #7 - New IFPs, Google Slide Themes, Flippity, Google Classroom Updates, Report Cards, Tech CommitteeReport Cards

A few new items to share this week. Wishing you a wonderful weekend. Please let me know if you have any questions.

NEW IFPs: Over the December break, five classrooms were outfitted with interactive flat panels - Jaclyn, Kori, Fiona, Deborah, and Laura! This brings the total to 10 classrooms with IFPs at HH.

There is always a learning curve when trying out new technologies. I was very happy to hear one teacher share that it's been one of the easiest transitions to using new technology in her classroom!

More installs coming this summer. I will be reaching out to the next group soon.

Google Slide Themes - If you use google slides and are bored with the slide themes, then check out Slides Carnival. This website offers free PowerPoint and Google Slide themes. I use the search box to look for a particular topic and then follow the on-screen directions to make a copy of the theme. Give it a try - lots of fun and engaging styles.

1. Search for a theme.

2. Click on the theme that you like.

3. Click

4. Click

5. Right-hand corner click

6. Then start editing with your information!

Flippity - Turn Google Sheets into an interactive fun online game. On the Flippity website, you can explore activities such as flashcards, sorting games, word search, bingo, hangman... Use their template to build your own.

Easy as 1 - 2 - 3

⇨ READ the Instructions
⇨ Grab the TEMPLATE and get started!

Google Classroom Updates: There are two new updates to Google Classroom coming in early February. They are originality reports and rubrics. Not sure if these are features we'd find useful at the elementary level but wanted to make you aware of them. You can read more about these two updates here.

Report Cards - A few people have been asking about printing reports. While I hope that we can be as green as possible, I understand that it's a lot of information on the screen. Here are the directions in case you need to see the hard copy.

Tech Committee: The next HH Technology Committee meeting is on Tuesday, February 4th at 2:45 in the computer lab. All are welcome to attend.
