Post #10 - BrainPop Access, Video Chats and Tutorials

Please continue to review the ES Online Tools for Digital Learning slides and the Distance Enrichment with Videos doc as we continue to update these resources daily.

Accessing BrainPop - Great news! BrainPop is offering free, unlimited use of BrainPOP to any school, anywhere, that is closed. With that said, I am sharing a generic username and password that you can share with families so students can log in and access all of BrainPop.

Video Chats - There are many options to use when setting up a video chat with your class or group of students. Many have had great SUCCESS with Google Meet and/or Zoom. There are many tools flying around right now, I would continue to use tools that are familiar to you and/or your students to keep things as normal as possible.

Things to think about:

  • Google Meet is the best option if students are using their Wayland Chromebooks.
  • Share Google Meet links in Google Classroom, classroom blog, google doc.
  • Zoom requires a client app or Chrome extension to work which is not accessible on Wayland student Chromebooks.
  • Think about how you will manage all of your students. Raising of hands, muting mics, asking students to wear headsets to block the background noises...

Tutorials - As tech questions arise, I continue to create short video tutorials. They will be added to this YouTube Tutorials Playlist. Feel free to bookmark it and check back for new videos.

If you need assistance with other items, please email me and I will do my best to get you a video or web information to answer your question.
