Post 13: Google Docs & iPad Access, Google Meet NEW FEATURE, and Kids Ergonomics Video

Some days it feels like we're climbing up a steep mountain. While other days feel like we've reached the summit. I hope that you find some peace on the trail you blazed today!

Digital Resources for School Closure

Google Docs and iPad Access: A new issue has bubbled up regarding students accessing google doc files on iPads/Tablets. Even though you set the link to "anyone with the link can view", the iPad is defaulting to viewing the document using the Google Docs app, which requires a sign in.

To FIX this issue, please "Publish" your google doc files BEFORE you create a link on the document you share with students/families. (See image to the right - FILE - PUBLISH)

NOTE: If the link is to a PDF file, then you do not need to do this step.

Google Meet - NEW FEATURE:

Is there a way to see all of my students at once in the Google Meet dashboard?

Yes! Just released! Install this Chrome extension, Google Meet Grid View and you will be able to see all of the participants' webcams in one dashboard.

Kids recommended Ergonomics Video - I heard a few families report that students' wrists are hurting due to extended technology use. I believe there are many factors in play here. Please feel free to share this ergonomics video. I will be posting it on my Tech Lab site as well for all classes.
