Post #9 ~ At Home Learning Help/Questions/Tips...

Thank you for your dedication and hard work to ensure that the technology is working for your students/families during this home enrichment time period. I know for some of you, this is out of your comfort zone and you are going above and beyond!!

The Tech Department has compiled some information regarding Distance Enrichment with Videos - Tools & Tips (this is a work in progress so you might want to bookmark it for future reference). Please take some time to review the tools listed as it should answer many of your questions regarding creating and sharing videos.

We strongly encourage you to continue using Google App Tools: Gmail, Meet, Hangouts, Docs, Slides, and Sheets. We also encourage you to utilize the tools we subscribe to, for example, Tumblebook Library, Raz Kids, Lexia and Symphony and others listed in this Slides document. Please check this list before searching for other resources.

Lastly, please be mindful of our Student Privacy Data Policy, which can be found on Happy Hollow/For Staff/Instructional Software Tools Procedure.

A couple of other items to note:

Looking to meet with your entire class? Zoom has come up as an alternative to Google Meet. While this is a great tool, computers will either need to add an extension (Chromebooks) or download a desktop/laptop app. This blog post includes a video with how to set this up as a teacher. However, this option could require extra steps for families. Something to think about.

Tutorials - As tech questions arise, I am creating short video tutorials. I am uploading them to this YouTube Tutorials Playlist. Feel free to bookmark it and check back for new videos.

If you need assistance with other items, please email me and I will do my best to get you a video or web information to answer your question.
