Kahoot Update: There has been confusion about whether or not we can use Kahoot with our students as the company declined to sign our SDP agreement. After many discussions, it has been determined that teachers MAY use Kahoot as long as students DO NOT create accounts. Teachers can create a teacher account and then share the Kahoot with their students to complete. This could be done live during a Google Meet, in Google Classroom or posted on your learning menus! If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to ask.
Student Device Collection: In order to prepare student devices (iPads/Chromebooks) for use this fall, we are seeking your input with regard to student device collection. Please provide your feedback here.
Fun Ways to Mix Up Google Meets:
- Start the meeting with a fun Quarantine Name: your name is - the name of something or someone you miss + what you had for breakfast!
- Share a live feed video as students enter the meet before your meeting begins.
- Using Safari and/or Chrome: This video tutorial shows you how to split your computer screen without adding anything on to your computer. You simply use the features built into your computer.
- This video shows how to split your screen and only share a window during a Google Meet. Allowing you to see the participants and the screen you are sharing. The students only see the screen you are sharing.
- Adding Chrome Extension Dualless - Works in the Google Chrome Browser only - Visit the Chrome App store to install the Dualless Extension. Before adding any Chrome extensions to your computer, you should read the terms and conditions.
- Adding Chrome Extension Tab Scissors and Tab Glue - Again these work in Google Chrome only. One tension will split your screen (tab scissors) and the other will put your tabs back together (glue). Here is a video demonstration on how to use Tab Scissors and Tab Glue.
