Post #5: BrainPop/BrainPop Jr. Access, iPad Tips - Assistive Touch and Screen Sharing

A few quick tech updates. The technicians are continuing to replay to all student and teacher help tickets. In addition, we are anxiously awaiting a solution to the Chromebook audio issues. Thank you for your patience. Be sure to direct families to the student help ticket if students experience any issues with their Chromebooks or iPads. WIT - For Families website.

BrainPop & BrainPop Jr
. - Both subscriptions are ready for teachers and students to access via ClassLink.

Part 1 - Teachers - time to log in and activate your subscription (I do not have a video because once you do these 3 steps you cannot recreate them. 😞)

  1. Login to ClassLink, select the BrainPop app that fits your needs.
  2. A small window will pop up, fill in your first name, last name and your email address as directed.
  3. You will be emailed a one time token to activate your subscription. (Follow the directions in the email.)
  4. If you wish, you can create a class (similar to Google Classroom and invite your students to join). Once students join, you can create and assign activities. Here is a video demonstration on how to create a class.
Next time - see how to create an assignment and how your students will access it.

 iPad Tips For Teachers:

Assistive Touch - Here is a quick video on how to turn on assistive touch on your iPad. I believe this is an essential iPad feature when modeling "how to steps" from the iPad because students cannot see where your finger is touching the screen.

Here is a quick video demonstration of the steps:

Screen Sharing - This is a great feature to use so you can demonstrate directly from your teacher iPad the steps students will follow for an activity. **I have walked some students and parents through these steps so that I can help troubleshoot.**

Here is a quick video demonstration of the steps.
