Post #8: Google Chrome Tip, iPevo Doc Camera, Internet Connection, Chromebook Printing, Padlet

A few mid-week updates. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Google Chrome Bookmark Tips - Being organized is a top priority these days. Thanks to May, I have been utilizing this work-flow tip and thought you might find it helpful too. I couldn't find the fun video May sent but found this one instead. Several great Google Chrome organization tips are in this short video. The game-changer tip for me comes at 1:30. A huge time saver when you only have a few minutes to get files open for your classes. Enjoy!

iPevo Document Cameras

The new iPevo document cameras have arrived. These document cameras connect directly to laptops, and to the Interactive Flat Panels (IFP). Please fill out this form to let me know if you need a document camera to teach from home if we go remote. (Or, if you currently teach from home and need one.) I have 22 devices that can be deployed.

iPevo resources can be found here.

Unstable Internet Connection

I continue to connect with Leisha and Albie about the connectivity in the building. One thought is that our aging MacBooks cannot handle all that we are asking them to do - such as running Zoom along with many many other tabs open. As you are teaching, please be aware of what else you have open and are working on during a Zoom session.

Try these practices to help with the performance of your MacBook:

1. Restart Daily in your classroom

2. Close unnecessary tabs and programs that you don't need

3. Turn off the wifi and then back on; this will ensure that you connect to the local router in your classroom which will give you the strongest connection; It's possible that as you move around in the building or in even in your classroom that your laptop will try to connect to a router in another classroom.

Chromebook Printing

Loker is reporting that students are having issues printing from their Chromebooks at school. I'm not sure if anyone has asked students to do this yet at HH but if you have, please let me know if printing is working or not.

Padlet Subscription

We are close to having our district Padlet subscription set up. Stay tuned...
