Post #17: Printing Errors, iPevo Doc Cam/Panel, Free Apple PD, Seesaw Progress Feature, TumbleBooks, Hot Spot (use outside)

Hope you found some time this past weekend to relax and enjoy the 🌻🌞
A few items to share this week.

New MacBooks Printing Issues:

We are hearing from staff across the district about issues printing from the new MacBooks. Most issues are with printing Google Docs. Below are images of the issues we are seeing. I'm also noticing only page 1 is printed on some multipage documents.

We are waiting for a permanent solution from Apple. In the meantime, here are a few things you can try:

Google Doc Solutions:

  • Change the font - we are finding that the typical fonts like Arial and Times New Roman are causing issues.
  • Copy and paste the document into a NEW google doc
  • Download the Google Doc as a PDF file and open it with Adobe (NOT Preview)
PDF Solutions:

  • Download the file and open it with Adobe (NOT Preview)

iPevo Doc Camera and Flat Panel:
The iPevo (portable green document camera) works very well with the Viewsonic flat panels. If you'd like to start using yours, follow these directions:

On the panel, login to your google account and download the iPevo Visualizer app to your Chrome browser.

To launch the iPevo App:
Click on the O in the bottom left corner then either search for or tap the app.

If you need assistance with this process, just let me know.

We have one Hotspot that can be signed out for use outside. The hotspot is suitable for small groups of students/staff (5 devices or less).
