Post #10: Internet Access, Student Devices, Starfall Update, Tech Committee, TumbleBooks

Internet Access: Leisha emailed about changes that were made to the network over vacation. Thus far, those changes seem to be working and students are accessing the internet more easily. If that is not the case, please let me know so we can continue to troubleshoot this issue.

Student Devices: A quick reminder about sending home student devices for students who will be out for an extended period of time due to Covid.

  • If you need help pulling a device for a student, Betsy and I are happy to help organize that for you. Just let us know.
  • Extra chargers are in the office that can be sent home so PLEASE do not pull any chargers from carts (iPads or Chromebooks).
  • We need to account for the device and/or charger going home on this spreadsheet (again Betsy or I can fill that out if it's helpful to you). Please note the grade level tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet.
  • If families are going to use a home device, they might find this slideshow helpful in order to access ClassLink and other programs necessary to complete work at home. If students are using a school device, they should be all set on accessing our tools.

Starfall Update: This week Starfall has released activities for students in Grades 4 and 5 for ELA and Math. Here is a quick video on what's available for students.

Tech Committee:
Mark your calendars ~ The next tech committee meeting is Wednesday, Janaury 12th @ 1:45. All are welcome to join the discussion. See you there!

TumbleBooks for January: Below is the January calendar from TumbleBooks. These stories are great to read together, play during snack times or students can independently access TumbleBooks via ClassLink.
