Post # 13: New Technician, Apple Classroom, Tech Committee

New Technician: A huge welcome to Alec Ferriola. He joined the Tech Department over the February break as a replacement for Keith who primarily worked at the HS. You might see Alec in the building helping with iPads or just about anything. Ruth is still the lead technician for Chromebooks. Joe will remain our Mac System Administrator. 


Apple Classroom: Over the past couple of weeks I have started to use the Apple Classroom app to help manage student iPads (could be used K-2). Sometimes it's just so hard to get them to look away and fully listen! The video below shows you many ways that Apple Classroom can act as your assistant. I have found several of the features to be really helpful. For example, you can lock all iPads - this locks the iPad screen so students cannot work - great for getting their full attention when you are giving directions. I also plan on using it to share files with students - like a template in the Pages app.

PS. You can manage Apple Classroom from your MacBook as well as from an iPad.
