Post #4: Brain-Break Slide, MFA, Printing, Tech Committee

Brain-Break Slide - I came across this Google slide of brain-break videos. Thought you might be able to use some of them. They have a winter theme.

Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) - As Jenn mentioned at the December staff meeting, the tech department is rolling out MFA to our Wayland Google accounts. MFA provides a layer of protection to your data. You may already be using MFA on your personal accounts - banks, health portals...

The goal is to have all Wayland employees turn on MFA by March. We are working on directions so you can do this on your own. If you prefer my assistance, I'd be happy to join your team during lunch, PLC, or another convenient time. See me to schedule something.

Printing - I know I have written about this before but I am asking for your help. There are many unclaimed printouts at the printers (especially the Lab Color Printer). A few reminders and updates on printing:

  • printers are NOT copiers - if you need to print more than 5 copies you NEED to use a copier
  • students should be printing to black/white printers only (computer lab, outside guidance, outside library, 3rd-grade copier, and main-hallway)
  • check the page count - do you really need every page printed
  • color printing - print essential pages in color; does a TPT activity need to be printed in color? every page in color?

Thank you for your help with this.

Tech Committee - Thank you to our tech committee members. We had a productive January meeting where we turned on MFA. Your grade level rep is another source to help you turn on MFA. But I am always happy to help as well. Our notes can be found here
