Post #5: Web-Filtering, BrainPop, Padlet

I'm hopeful that spring is on the way!

Web-Filtering on Student Chromebooks - The district has had to quickly switch our web-filtering provider on student Chromebooks to Bark for Schools. Here are a few key points:

  • Affects K-8 student Chromebooks only (No impact on staff).

  • Replaces our current (Securely) filter to block games, social media, and inappropriate content.

  • Works both at school and at home on student devices; cannot be disabled.

  • In doing this, you may notice a site that was previously open as blocked. If that occurs, staff should direct all site "allow/block" requests to help@waylandps.org.

BrainPop/Jr
- We are back up and running with BrainPop. Thank you to Heather for alerting me that there was a login issue.

Padlet - Over the past several years, teacher use of Padlet has decreased dramatically. Therefore, the district will NOT be renewing our subscription for the 2026-27 school year. If you are a Padlet user, please let me know if I can assist you in finding a different tool moving forward.

As always, please reach out with any questions.
